John Calvin Prebyterian Church closed its doors on October 25, 2009 after 47 years of ministry in the south Orlando area.  Orange County Public Schools bought the property for the Oak Ridge High School expansion project.  The members of JCPC were and are a family.  This website is a reunion of those members, our family.  Check out the new things throughout this website and don't miss out on the discussions and upcoming reunion events!

John Calvin Presbyterian Church was a small, familial congregation with a blended worship style.

Our church was founded in 1961 under organizing pastor Rev. Ridgley Hall. It was named after John Calvin at the request of the St. John’s Presbytery (now known as the
Central Florida Presbytery). We are part of the Presbyterian Church USA.

Who was John Calvin?

John Calvin (1509-1564), was a French theologian whose writings are one of the foundations of our reformed tradition. You can learn more about him from Washington State University's
Discovery and Reformation series.

Since 2009 is the 500th anniversary of Calvin's birth, the PCUSA has made resources available to help us learn more about him. You can learn more about the 500th anniversary of Calvin's birth here and here.
